Background:[]
The composer for the show is Kurt Farquhar. It's producer is: David Roessell, while the credited Executive producers are: Jeffrey Alan Schechter, Jonathan Baruch, Rob Wolken,Todd Holland, John Myrick and John Ziffren.(Source). The songs for each episode are selected by their Music Supervisor: Heather Guilbert. Jeffrey said that she has access to a library of great indie talent. Heather suggests 4 or 5 songs and then they decide on which ones go into the episode. But that's mostly handled by one of Jeffrey's producing partners, Rob Wolken.Taking writing out of the equation, their episode prep for 7 working days and then shoot for 7 working days. As a general rule, they shoot what's called “5 in, 2 out” which means 5 days in the studio and 2 days on location. The picking of titles tends to happen organically and just “come to them”. But sometimes they're a play on other titles like (Hack me if You Can or Pretty Little Lawyers). Overall, it's usually just something that makes sense or has deeper meaning.
So the writing process for the series is (usually) :
- The story is sent to the network(Freeform) for approval, which can take up to 2 days.
- The network reviews it and that last about a day.
- After the approved outline is written, it takes seven days.
- Then it's network approval once more which lasts 1 day.
- The script is written and that's 7 days followed by 2 days where its sent to the Network for approval.
- After that, it can go into the pre-production/prep/cycle, but they keep making tweaks to the script until its shot.
